Darphin

Pierre Darphin was one of the first people to open a beauty institute in Paris that treated the whole body, inside and out. He not only focused on optimal health and beauty for skin, hair, and the rest of the body, but he did it in a way that took the total person into account. His institute brought in experts from both the health and beauty field, sometimes combining treatments that were less well known with his beauty products. For instance, every client that came to the beauty institute was required to have at least one hour face-to-face consultation, which included a lifestyle review as well as skin, body, and hair analysis. Sometimes treatments included aromatherapy, massage, and lifestyle modifications.

This is in keeping with the Darphin philosophy that beauty is only a mirror for the total well being of a person. The image of beauty that we project can be influenced by a variety of factors: genetics, age, mental health, body health, and environmental stressors. While the Darphin line of beauty products treat specific portions of the body, Pierre Darphin felt that to achieve beauty one had to look within. This holistic approach to beauty was revolutionary for the time. Since 1958, Darphin has led the modern movement towards well being from a beauty perspective. He combines knowledge from health fields to help address the inner state of being of a person and to bring forth optimal health and beauty in his clients.
