The main aim and purpose of dietetics a branch of science concerning nourishment which is based on the latest researches is to establish such a selection of food so that it would provide humans bodies with proper silhouette shape, fitness and agility. A balanced diet should contain all the necessary ingredients, essential for the body function properly, such as: protein, minerals and water constituting building substance; carbohydrates and fat being energy sources; and other elements essential in the process of regulating the metabolism, for example vitamins and mineral salts that matter greatly as building substances as well as chemical reaction catalyst.
Protein:
Protein constitutes basic building substance and is essential component of all cells reconstruction and take part in (great number of) tissues regeneration. The most valuable protein is animal protein containing the set of amino acids. High in protein animal protein can be found in: meat, fish, milk, cheese and eggs. Plant protein doesn't have complete biological value regarding the fact that they do not contain all amino acids.
Carbohydrates:
Carbohydrates are the primary source of energy used not only by the human body but also by muscles to function properly. Apart from that carbohydrates are essential in the process of perfect combustion of fat and animal protein.
Fats:
Above all fat is the source of energy, because for example burning 1g of fat gives out 9 calories (comparing 1g of protein = 4calories and 1g of carbohydrates = 4calories). Main sources of fat are: animal fats( butter, pork fat, lard) and also plant fats such as floral oils, olive, olives, margarine.
