Factor A
As with all Jan Marini products, the Factor-A Line is the result of careful research into specific chemicals or ingredients that have beneficial effects on skin or hair. The Factor-A line is the product of the latest research on retinoids, a product, either synthetic or natural, that is a form of vitamin A. Retin-A is one example of a retinoid and it was research on this product that first signaled the possibility of using retinoids for aging as well as acne. Retin-A, however, is a prescription strength of vitamin A that had multiple side effects and could be dangerous to unborn children. So, it cannot be sold as an over-the-counter cosmetic product. But, the same mechanics that make Retin-A a powerful medication was used by Jan Marini to develop her own line of Factor-A skincare products that could be sold to the public without a prescription.
Using retinol (which is similar to the Retoniac acid used in Retin-A), Factor-A products can treat skin conditions, which are normally difficult or stubborn to address with cosmetic products.
