After turning to powder Egyptian sapphire (lapis lazuli) was used for obtaining beautiful shades under the eyes and dissolved in water made the eyes look sparkling when applied in the same way as contemporary eye drops. Lapis lazuli contains copper that has tightening properties. Nowadays it is believed that wearing it protects us against feelings of melancholy and clears up mind.
Malachite was the stone used as a specific eye shadow put under the eyes. Its glittering emerald green helped seeing better and aroused the gift of clairvoyance. Malachite is known for its pain relieving properties. The stone strengthens and protects heart chakra, helps to overcome depression. It has antibacterial properties and is used for rheumatism and arthritis.
Coral - improves blood circulation. It supports better digestion and assimilation of food, cures gum diseases, as well as protects from the bad influence of other people.
Emerald - removes inflammations.
Aquamarine - improves water balance of human organism. Its name means “water stone” which symbolizes sea water. It soothes pain and increases cheerfulness because it chases away negative thoughts and feelings of fear and anxiety.
Aquamarine decreases fever and protects from seasickness. It is ideal for pharyngeal chakra - it enables to express what is known as right and true.
Topaz has a therapeutic effect on kidneys and bladder. It symbolizes sun and fertility.
